When you feel like asking "Why, God?".....REMEMBER!!

When you feel like asking God, "Why?" Remember that He created this world and us so that we could live in perfect union with Him, and in creating us, He created beings that had their own free will- the ability to make choices. Our choices are what made the world the way it is today. Every choice that was made without God has been a poor one, starting with Adam and Eve and continuing to each subsequent choice made after that by the rest of mankind. Choices made without God result in sin. Sin destoys our relationship with God and releases Satan to run rampant throughout this world. Satan is the initiator of deception, hurt, and consequently despair. Despair is what causes us to ask, "Why would God allow this to happen?" The answer is that God has turned the world over to our sin. Our sinful ways have made the world what it is. Every negative thing (crime, immoral act, etc.) you can think of, originally, is a result of our sin. Those negatives happen to both Christians and non-Christians alike.

Now, God in His perfect wisdom modified His plan of action to compensate for our sinful choices. He wanted to restore us to our union with Him. So, He first sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live in the same world that mankind had essentially trashed due to our poor stewardship and lack of obedience. Jesus, knows exactly what it is like to experience the same afflictions of the flesh that all of man experiences. Yet, He remained sinless and therefore is able to be the Mediator between us and the Father and is the Way in which we can reunite with our Heavenly Father.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin." -Hebrews 4:15.

As another part of God's plan, He allows us to go through trials just as He allowed Jesus to experience them. Once again you may ask, "Why?" The answer is so that we too can do as Jesus has done. Through His experiences, He comforts and guides us. Through our experiences we are able to share the comfort that Jesus gives us when we suffer. It is a continuous flow of comfort and blessings.

I imagine it as a pyramid of glasses. Jesus is the lone glass at the top, and we are the subsequent glasses below. As he suffered and was comforted by the Father, His cup or glass filled to overflowing, spilling over to us as Christians. Ours began to overflow and fill the ones after us. This continues as long as we continue to share our sufferings and comfort those around us as Christ has comforted us.


"All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us." -2 Corinthians 1: 3-7

So instead of asking "Why?" We should ask God "Who, What, When, Where, How?" Who is it you want me to minister to? What is it you want me to do? When do you want me to do it? Where should I meet them? and How do You want me to do it?
